Racial Equity Consultants, LLC operates from a lens of anti-racism to elevate the conversation about racial equity. While we are not to blame for the inequities that persist in our institutions, we are absolutely responsible for identifying disproportionate impacts on our communities. In this session, we will be raising racial consciousness by exploring our own racialized lens’ and our bias. Briefly covering historical and institutional racism in this country, we will be delving into how implicit bias exists unconsciously in all of us, because of brain function and socialization. We will be directly using our new awareness to develop strategies for interrupting the racialized bias that unconsciously erodes trust and relationships in our work as educators.
